For much of my working career I have been a registered nurse working in specialisms including mental health, bereavement and sexual health. My experience as a nurse and counselor, have helped me to have a better understanding of some of the issues that clients bring to counselling.
My initial training in counselling was from a psychodynamic perspective which involves helping clients understand and resolve their problems by increasing their awareness of unconscious feelings
and the influence these have over relationships both past and present.
Since qualifying as a counselor, I have also developed an integrative style of working with clients which brings together different elements of therapy styles. More importantly though, I believe that each client needs to be considered a unique individual and that counselling techniques need be tailored to suit specific needs.
FACE TO FACE
I offer both short term and long term face to face counselling in professional, private rooms in Bosham and Chichester. I also offer home visits for elderly and disabled clients.
Some clients may only need a few sessions if they wish to focus on a specific issue whilst others might wish to explore deeper issues which may take longer. No matter how many sessions you feel you need I will always offer you a non judgmental, confidential and nurturing space so that you feel safe to talk through your difficulties.
